Disney’s Snow White Struggles at the Box Office, Marking One of Its Worst Performances in Recent Years…

Disney’s highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Snow White has failed to live up to expectations at the box office, becoming one of the company’s worst-performing films in recent years.

The movie, which had a hefty production budget of $240 million, generated only $3.5 million in preview earnings on Thursday night across the United States. Early projections suggest that the film will bring in between $45-55 million during its opening weekend, which is considerably low for a major Disney release.

The film’s disappointing performance can be attributed to several factors, including controversy surrounding lead actress Rachel Zegler’s comments during the promotional period. Zegler’s remarks stirred up a significant amount of backlash, which some believe contributed to the negative public perception of the movie ahead of its release.

Critics and audiences have not been kind to the film, with Snow White receiving poor ratings across multiple platforms. On IMDb, the film has earned a dismal 2.4/10, while its Rotten Tomatoes score stands at just 44%. These reviews reflect a lack of enthusiasm from both critics and general viewers, further indicating that the film has struggled to capture the same magic as Disney’s previous live-action adaptations.

With a budget of $240 million, the film now faces an uphill battle to make back its production costs. If Snow White continues to perform below expectations, it could be remembered as one of Disney’s most significant box-office flops in recent years. The film’s underperformance serves as a reminder that even the most beloved fairy tales are not immune to the challenges of modern-day filmmaking and audience reception.
