Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson is an Icelandic strongman and actor, best known for his role as “The Mountain” in Game of Thrones. Standing at a staggering 6’9″ and weighing over 400 pounds, he’s one of the world’s strongest men, having won the title of World’s Strongest Man in 2018.

His ex-girlfriend feared for her life

One of his exes, Thelma Björk Steimann (the mother of his daughter), even claimed she feared for her life during a vacation, leading her to press charges.

It was at that event that Hafþór met Kelsey Morgan Henson, a Canadian fitness model and waitress who instantly caught his attention. The story goes that their connection began when Kelsey approached The Mountain to ask for a picture, sparking the start of their romance.
The couple quickly found themselves in the spotlight, not only because of Hafþór’s towering stature but also due to the remarkable height difference between them. Kelsey stands at 5 feet 2 inches, making her more than a foot and a half shorter than Björnsson. Sharing photos of their brief time with their daughter, Grace Morgan Hafþórsdóttir, Kelsey and Hafþór opened up about their heart-wrenching loss in a lengthy Instagram caption.
”It is with great sorrow that we announce the birth of our daughter, Grace Morgan Hafþórsdóttir, born Nov 8th at 21 1/2 weeks gestation. After a noticeable decrease in movement, we found out her heart had stopped beating,” they shared.
”Words cannot describe our pain of this loss or our happiness at being able to spend time with our daughter. She is absolutely beautiful, with blonde lashes and brows and a little smile for mom and dad. The love we feel for her is overwhelming,” the post continued.
”The grief we feel will be with us forever but so will the love. All of our hopes and dreams for her have been taken away from us but I know I will be with her again. Her spirit lives on through us and her siblings. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time as we grieve this unbearable loss. Thank you all for any kind words and support.”
